Call for Nominations for the 2024 CACA Student Excellence Awards

The Chinese American Chromatography Association (CACA) invites applications for two 2024 CACA Student Excellence Awards. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to the development of separation science and its applications, especially in the field of chromatography. The 2024 CACA Student Excellence Awards are supported by Mac-Mod Analytical (http://www.mac-mod.com) and Genentech (https://www.gene.com). The awards will be announced and presented at Pittcon 2024 (February 24-28, 2024, San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA). A plaque and $500 cash as a travel grant to the conference will be presented to each winner. The winners must agree to attend Pittcon 2024 to receive the awards.

 

Eligibility: The CACA Student Excellence Award is open to all graduate students in separation science who are students at the time of the award presentation.

 

Evaluation: The CACA Awards committee will evaluate application packages. The applicants are judged on the originality and overall quality of research, significance to the advancement of separation science, and other supporting factors such as scientific leadership and community service.

 

Application package: An application package must consist of the following items, 1) A cover letter summarizing the applicant’s contribution to the field of separation science. 2) A resume, including contact information, academic credentials, work experience, and a publication list. 3) In the cover letter, please include two references (email and phone) from mentors, supervisors, colleagues, or other experts, who can testify to the candidate's accomplishments. References will be contacted if verification of credentials is needed. 4) A headshot photo (high-resolution jpg file preferred for publicity). The candidates can self-nominate or be nominated by their mentors or separation-science experts.

 

The 2024 CACA Student Excellence Award application deadline is December 31, 2023. The awardees will be selected by the CACA Awards Committee and notified by January 15, 2024.
