Abstract:
An analytical strategy allowing for the direct quantification of stable isotope label incorporation in newly synthesized proteins following administration of the universal stable isotope tracer, deuterium oxide, will be presented. Stable isotope labeling with deuterium oxide, followed by immonium ion isotopologue quantification, is a more sensitive strategy for determining protein fractional synthesis rates compared to peptide centric mass isotopomer distribution analysis approaches when labeling time and/or stable isotope tracer exposure is limited and as such offers great advantage for translation from preclinical to human studies. Coupling short reversed phase separations employing the Evosep One with high resolution mass spectrometry enables rapid delivery of targeted protein fractional synthesis rate characterization with notable increases sample throughput and robustness.

Reservations: Please register on-line at http://www.cfdv.org where you can pay by PayPal. Although the final deadline for on-line registration is not until 4 PM on Friday, February 7, 2020, please register by 4 PM on Tuesday, February 4 if at all possible so that we can give the restaurant an accurate headcount. You can also register by e-mailing Sheree Gold at sheree@cfdv.org indicating your name, employer and work telephone. Alternatively, you can telephone Ms. Gold at 610-742-4981 and provide this same information. Please note that “no shows” will be billed for the dinner.

Late reservations (after 4 PM on February 7): We still want you to attend, so please call or email Ms. Sheree Gold at 610-742-4981 or sheree@cfdv.org. However, we cannot guarantee
your entrée selection for dinner.

Non-weather-related cancellations: The deadline for ‘good weather’ cancellations is 36 hours prior to the meeting, i.e., noon on February 9th for the meeting on Tuesday, February 11. Cancellations after the deadline cannot be accepted and ‘no shows’ will be billed for dinner if it was not already paid in advance.
