Andre Striegel

André Striegel obtained his B.S. in chemistry and Ph.D. in analytical chemistry in 1991 and 1996, respectively, both from the University of New Orleans. After postdoctoral research at the USDA’s National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research, he joined Solutia (now part of Eastman Chemical), first in their Physical & Analytical Sciences Center and then in Films R&D. After six years with Solutia, he joined the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Florida State University as assistant professor of analytical and materials chemistry. In the fall of 2011, he joined the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) as a research chemistry in what is now the Chemical Sciences Division. He is co-editor of the journal Chromatographia and past associate editor of the Encyclopedia of Analytical Chemistry, author of over 70 peer-reviewed research papers and co-author of one book and editor of another, the recipient of several awards, and served as inaugural Professor-in-Residence for Preservation Research and Testing at the U.S. Library of Congress.
