Ashley Prout has worked at Merck in Vaccine Analytical R&D for 7 years with a particular focus on separations and biophysical characterization of viral particles and proteins. She received her B.S. in neuroscience and chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017, and this year she received a funded educational sabbatical from Merck Research Laboratories to pursue a doctorate full-time. She will study structural biology and host-pathogen interactions at Scripps Research Institute in San Diego, CA.
