Charles Powley

Charles Powley has worked in the area of trace environmental analytical chemistry for over 35 years, with specialization in GC, GC-MS, LC and LC-MS. He is currently the Chief Scientist at STRIDE Center for PFAS Solutions in New Castle, DE, which is a non-profit laboratory specializing in non-routine investigations into PFAS contamination in the Tristate area. Prior to 2017, he worked for the DuPont Company for 32 years, with most of his career spent in developing analytical methods for PFAS and pesticide residues. From 2003 to 2008 he was a Research Fellow and Manager in the Bioanalytical
Group at the DuPont Haskell Research Center, where he developed and published several PFAS methods and studies. Charles received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Illinois. He completed a postdoctoral assignment at the University of Georgia under the direction of L. B. Rogers prior to joining DuPont. Charles is a member of ACS and SETAC and is a lifetime member of CFDV.
