Thomas Angel

Tom Angel received undergraduate degrees in biology and chemistry from California State University and Ph.D from Montana State University. In 2007 Tom joined the Palczewski lab at Case Western Reserve where he contributed to mass spectrometry based structural studies of the prototypical GPCR rhodopsin. In 2009 Tom joined Dick Smith’s group at PNNL as a postdoctoral research associate contributing to a variety of biomarker discovery studies. Tom then moved to Berkeley CA, working for a small company focused on protein and proteome wide fractional synthesis quantification combining stable isotope labeling and mass spectrometry. Tom is currently a Senior Scientific Advisor in the protein mass spectrometry group at GlaxoSmithKline. In his spare time Tom and his family enjoy section hiking the Appalachian trail and backpacking.
